 THERE IS SOMETHING REFRESHING

YET 'DONE' ABOUT THE NEW S/S10 COLLECTION

   GARETH PUGH Vs Lyon Airport

+ The palette was somewhat grey a step away from the black that we have all grown accustomed to and love. This is definitely a step in the right direction of sorts for GP, it seemed a little more mature, somewhat less 'experimental' yet maintained what I feel Pugh has always set out to do. Mixing both the effeminate with masculine elements this was a unisex androgynous collection, this being his strong points in his collections in the past. I get the impression that Rick Owens has had a positive effect on Pugh and this is reflected in the look of the whole show, it seems very 'Rick' in a word with some added flair and more embellishments than the man himself
Additionally there's a distinct amount of tailoring reminiscent of the latest rick show, maybe a step forward in terms of design knowledge? Who knows, similarities aside I feel that this is the most commercial GP show yet and somehow the most mature, not sure if this is a good thing yet. As the immature more experimental Pugh always made for a surprising show
STILL UNDECIDED ABOUT THIS
All in all a coherent show that works well together and I can see it working with other brands well. With headpieces that are more interesting and innovative than some of the given garments. A step in the future direction and yet two steps back respectively
