Despite the frequent and problematic overlapping of Minimal and Conceptual art, the evidence for creation of a work of Minimal as opposed to Conceptual art must include not only its conception but its physical realization - and arguably its presentation as an artwork. Despite the frequent definition of Minimal sculpture as an art distinguishable from objects, it ultimately retains traditional status as a transcendental object and remains subject to traditional procedures of validation...whereas Conceptual art is finally a more radical departure in its dematerialization and concomitant resistance to authentication.
