The Mystery of Insanity
Schizophrenia : "a condition of obscure origins and no established etiology, pathogenesis and pathology," without "even any clear disease marker or laboratory test by which it can readily be identified."
Sass suggests that today, even with the aid of modern medicine, no great advance has been made in regards to the mystery of insanity since the early psychologists, such as Sigmund Freud, whilst questioning why the condition continues to perplex the intellectuals of biological psychiatry and the neurosciences.
